Substitute Spark Plug Wires
The local auto parts store did not have any wires that fit. In fact, the Autolite line they carried had the wrong number in their catalog. I had to return the recommended spark plug wires. I asked the clerk if I could try and find some myself. He asked, annoyed, and somewhat surprised, "You want to open up every box of spark plug wires we have?". I said, "well, hopefully I won't have to open every box." He seemed to be a slight bit amused. He checked on me occasionally. I eventually found some wires that worked after 20 or so boxes. Autolite part number 86621 was the closest set of wires I could find. I brought my box and my return receipt to the cash register. A different clerk had draped some chain around his neck, and was joking that he was the ghost of Christmas past. I said, "The ghost of Christmas past had chains? Wasn't it Marley, his old partner that had chains?". He admitted that it was probably Marley. The Autolite part number 86621 worked fine for my engine. A wee bit long, but OK.
