Removing The Grill and Radiator
It is much easier to work on the engine if you can get to the front. The grill and radiator is not that difficult to remove. Here is a picture of the cross brace, the one the hood latches on to:
It hasn't rusted through. It is pretty much just surface rust at this point; however, if it was left, it would eventually rust through.
I still need to remove the front bumper and the lower metal piece, but Here is how far I got today:
As you can see, this makes it a lot easier to get at the engine compartment. The car really is built around this engine. There isn't a lot of extra room.
