Replacing the Vacuum Wiper Hoses - Part1
The wipers were not working well, and I decided to replace the vacuum hose.
To get at the hose you have to remove the radio and the ashtray bracket:
Just unscrew the six screws on the back of the bracket and tilt the top part out first:
Here you can see the vacuum wiper unit removed:
The cavity under the cowling is pretty bad, since it is exposed to rain:
I just removed the big flakes, blew out the dust, and sprayed some rust converter on it through the wiper motor firewall hole.
I used 5/16 inch inside diameter un-reinforced hose I got off a reel at an auto parts store:
