Rebuilding the Carter WCD - Part1
Our Carter WCD 3535S was creating a lot of black smoke because of unburnt gas. We have done a fairly complete tuneup, so we figured it was time for a rebuild. We had a supposed rebuilt carb with no gaurantees, but it stalled when accelerating at lower speeds. One problem we had was figuring out what the parts were when reading our technical service manual. Here is a picture of how these particular parts go together:

One of the first measurements 5/8" between the center of the float and the edge of the bowl:
There should be 1/8" between the bottom of the float and the casting:
