Removing the Door Panel

Inside the doors is a good place to open up and do a little rust treatment and prevention. There are two problems, though. The handles have clips that hold them in place, as do the door panels. There are special tools you can buy to help with this though.

The first tool is used to remove the retaining clip for the handles. Just slide the tool between the panel and the handle. Rotate the tool until it falls into the groove, and push. It will loosen the clip, and the handle will fall off::



The second tool you need is sometimes called a panel popper. Just slide along the panel until you find a clip, insert the two prongs around the clip, and pry up:
