Replacing the Zerk Fittings

I finally got around to doing some lube maintenance. Check out these pictures of the old zerk fittings:

There are two on the sides of the lower trunnion, one on the bottom of the lower trunnion, one on the back of the upper trunnion, and one on the side of the outer, upper control arm bushing. I couldn't find any others, but I'm still searching, and will update this if I find them. Pretty much, especially with the way these looked, it is best to simply replace the old zerks with new ones. There is an inexpensive set available at Harbor Freight:

Here are the new installed zerks:

Do make sure that you get a flexible hose for your grease gun. Also, some zerk fittings do fit better than others, so if you can't get good compression, try changing the fitting. One thing that I found, at least with my cheap grease gun and fittings, was that the pressure of the grease is what seals the zerk to the nozzle. So, make sure that the grease nozzle is straight on to the zerk fitting. Also, don't force the nozzle on to the fitting, because it won't work right, the grease will just go out the side before entering the fitting.
