Oil Pump From the Inside

Here you can see how the oil pump fits on the bottom of an AMC 196 OHV engine from the bottom. The oil pump inlet tube is curving to the left in the picture, from the bottom of the oil pump:

The gear on the bottom of the oil pump connects directly to the cam shaft:
